We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us!

VIETNAM MISSION 2011

Our summer 2011 team of eight went to Vietnam June 1-17. We taught a 3 day healthcare workshop to in collaboration with the Vietnam Nurse’s Association. The workshop was attended by 120 nurses from 50 hospitals and a CPR Update was presented to 40 physicians.

We delivered donations of baby hats, beanie babies, puppets, quilts, school supplies and medical supplies to 3 hospitals and 2 orphanages. We visited our orphanage healthcare project providing eye testing for children and elderly and holding a clinic for the elderly. We accompanied our VLH physician to a small church on an island in the Mekong Delta where we gave gives of food and held eye testing and clinic for the local poor.
A stroller was presented to a handicapped child at the orphanage and a special needs wheelchair for a handicapped child at the Pediatric Hospital Rehabilitation Unit.  We had great attendance of up to 26 for each Bible study.

After ten years of health and dental care to Thien Binh Orphanage, which began with a grant from Wheat Ridge Ministries, we will conclude that project and seek others in need. The children and elderly there will receive their care from other sources.

We continue to provide support for Dr. Nguyen Nu Hang, our VLH project physician, her outreach to children, elderly and the poor; and her two Gospel Houses serving orphans and unwed mothers.
