OUR HISTORY

Vital Links for Humanity founders Tom and Carol Miles are both nurses and attend Shepherd of the Lakes ELCA Lutheran Church in Sayner, WI. Tom is a Vietnam veteran who served as a Pararescueman while in the USAF and is retired from military service. They began their mission experiences serving in a large clinic in a Cambodian Refugee camp in Thailand 1991-92. They then spent one year in the former Saigon, Vietnam 1996-97 teaching in a large hospital. They were there as missionaries with International Teams USA and sponsored by Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. They then formed Vital Links for Humanity leading teams of laypersons and medical personnel to Vietnam since 1998. They have also led teams to the Navajo Indian Reservation and Biloxi, MS for Katrina recovery effots. VLH recognizes the healthcare needs in developing countries and it is the mission to respond to that need using the opportunities that come before us to share our Christian faith. Vital Links for Humanity is a Christian 501 c 3 non-profit organization and it is licensed in the State of Wisconsin as a Charitable Organization. All donations are tax deductible. EIN # 86-0946153
